JOB SUMMARY

Established support individual contributor that executes tasks that are typically routine, with some deviation from standard practice. Provides support for internal teams in the Manufacturing Assembly area. Follows administrative processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables. Maintains high standards of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication, discretion, and independent judgment. Responsible for performing manufacturing procedures and executing diverse tasks in various processing areas such as biology, microbiology, biotechnology, medical technology or biochemistry. Follows regulatory requirements as well as policies and procedures of the business. Safely and efficiently execute daily tasks related to needle making in an FDA regulated environment. Typical tasks include provide training, set-up, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the laser drilling equipment, inspection of product, and raw material handling.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

  • Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.

  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

  • ·Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Performs other duties assigned as needed

  • All of the essential functions listed for Laser Needlemaker (PG 22) plus the following:

  • Oversee and coach associates through basic performance problems

  • Coordinate and lead day-to-day activities in the production manufacturing area as necessary, in alignment with immediate or direct supervision.

  • Responsible for delivering departments outputs daily for assigned shift

  • Monitor assigned area and reallocate resources as necessary to meet schedule requirements within the department.

  • Collaborate with Supervisor on all department performance and operator issues, coordinating priorities with other shift Leads.

  • Train New personnel in the area.

  • Responsible for training adherence for the shift.

  • Support projects and validations as needed.

  • Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of the department.

  • Prepare weekly staffing plan for the area.

  • Order Raw Materials to warehouse as needed.

  • Leads Crossover meetings.

  • Responsible for Laser schedule/plan attainment.

  • Provides recommendations and opportunities for OEE improvements.

  • Promotes a safety focused culture and the Good Saves program within his Shift.

  • Ensures that employees within shift are adhering to GMPs, GDPs and acting in accordance to their process specifications.

  • Responsible for ensuring sustainability of the 6S program.

  • Responsible for maintaining all assigned work areas safe, clean and in good operating condition

  • Opens work orders if repairs are required in the facilities or the equipment.

  • Reports any associates who are not behaving in accordance with the J&J established policies to the Line Facilitator or Manufacturing Manager as applicable.

  • Escalates any major safety, quality or equipment downtime situation to the Shift - Line Facilitator or the Manufacturing Manager as applicable.

  • Demonstrates leadership qualities.  Create and actively pursue a team-based, non-threatening environment designed to promote teamwork and open exchange of ideas.

  • Ensure cross shift participation.  Frequently identify and communicate progress and areas of improvement to team members.

  • Demonstrates consistently effective job performance that encompasses good quality and quantity of work, and dependability.

  • Communicates problems and potential solutions to supervisor, technician, engineer and incoming production shifts. 

  • Demonstrates ability to manage complexity.

  • Promotes innovation and continuous learning to other associates.

  • Demonstrate leadership by delegating work of others, gather information and complete reports as requested.

  • Demonstrates leadership by assisting in the hiring and review process, help schedule overtime, work assignments and vacations, move associates to level workloads and meet daily production requirements.

  • Completes tasks for the support function of the Manufacturing Assembly area and follows administrative processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables.

  • Adheres to best practices for set up, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery/equipment to foster a safe working environment.

  • Helps monitor and install components of multiple in-process products, assemblies, or sub-assemblies on the assembly line.

  • Builds competency with new and routine machinery.

  • Supports tracking of the quality of outputs to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION*            

  • Minimum of three years manufacturing experience directly with Needles Laser Drilling required.

  • Generally Requires 4-6 Years Work Experience

  • Associates Degree preferred.

  • Experience across all laser types and product types (PS and Cardio needles) is preferred

  • Computer and database management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills.

  • Statistical and analytical problem solving.

  • Must have mechanical skills and able to provide documentation of mechanical skills and experience.

  • Department safety and GMP procedures.

  • Accurate record keeping.

  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools (i.e. screwdrivers, wrenches, snips, cutters) and inspection equipment (i.e. optical comparators, micrometers, microscopes, plug gauges).

  • Working knowledge of shop math such as decimals, fractions, and tolerances.

  • Work in a team environment behaving in a CREDO based respectful manner.

  • Comply with all federally regulated programs.

  • Comply with all job specific safety procedures and utilize PPE when necessary.

  • Comply with quality system requirements as defined within procedures and instructions.

  • Support Maintenance Excellence (ME2) including 6S and Operator Asset Care.

  • Accurately complete records as defined within the job procedures (e.g. manual and/or electronic documentation).

  • Consistently meet required Training due date targets.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/facilitator.

  • Follow current compliance regulations and standards.

  • Adhere to FDA quality and worldwide quality systems.

  • Support Plant Diversity Process.

  • Ensure safe working conditions and practices in the department.

  • Demonstrate ability to consistently meet required work performance targets.

  • Demonstrate teamwork in identifying, evaluating, and resolving problems within the department.

  • Cover for other operators during breaks, absences, leaves, vacations, etc.

  • Perform physical inventory and cycle counting.
