The Director, Ad Operations, will play a key role in building Loblaw Advance™ into the most profitable retail media network in Canada, by contributing to the monetization of our key digital assets and leading the Media Execution team for buying/delivering across all digital channels.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Ensure that all media is successfully delivered and monetized across all owned and operated digital properties. 
  • Ensure media campaigns are delivered across all third party digital media channels (including programmatic, social, and paid search)
  • Lead optimization of day-to-day media operations and workflows for maximum efficiency. 
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of new and existing onsite/instore ad placements. 
  • Working closely with Revenue Management, lead Yield Management from an operations perspective. 
  • Lead, grow and encourage a media operations team, including traffickers, managers, specialists and contractors. 
  • Working closely with Loblaw Media / Loblaw Digital / Loblaw Technology, be a key contributor to the operationalization of the Loblaw owned platforms (ex. MediaAisle and LOOP) 
  • Be a key contributor to the integration of our owned and operated properties and our proprietary DSP from an operations perspective. 
  • Collaborate with partnerships team to develop new relationships and integrations with technologies that will enhance Loblaw Advance™ ability to demonstrate its unique value proposition. 
  • Work with multiple data teams to operationalize media reporting. 
  • Play a key role in developing a scaled publisher network which will enable Loblaw Media to buy and optimize against PC Optimum audiences in a direct, cookieless environment through our own DSP. 
  • Ensure Loblaw Advance™ ad products, both owned and operated, and third party, conform to the standards of quality that will ensure high level of sale, including but not limited to fraud avoidance and viewability. 
  • Work directly with Agency and Advertiser operations and buying teams to ensure the most seamless integrations with our buyers. 
  • Contribute to the development of new data monetization strategies in partnership with Agency and Advertisers. 

What You Bring: 

  • At least 10 years’ experience in leading advertising operations of premier websites, including direct experience in a revenue driving ecommerce or marketplace environment. 
  • Revenue responsibility with ownership of P&L an asset. 
  • At least 10 years running an ad operations team. 
  • Consistent track record to solve complex technical operational problems. 
  • Experience in sales operations including direct experience integrating Salesforce with on site-operations systems like GAM. 
  • Direct hands-on experience with platforms including but not limited to Ad-serving, SSPs, DSPs, verification, ad-blocking, on-site video players, header bidding, identity solutions, clean rooms. 
  • Solid negotiation skills with both internal and external partners. 
  • University or college degree in business, marketing or an equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
