The Behavioral Health Integration Clinician (BHIC) is part of the patient’s medical care team and is embedded in ambulatory physician practices across the EEH service area providing behavioral health services virtually and in the same physical practice location as medical care providers to provide whole person healthcare seamlessly and conveniently. The BHIC is generally located in a single medical office in either the Edward or Elmhurst Service area.

Primary responsibilities include collaborating with care providers to identify patients who may benefit from behavioral health services, providing individual therapy, opportunity for group therapy and providing behavioral health integration consultations to patients at the end of their physician visit.

What you will need:

Required Education, Skills and/or Experience:

   Knowledge of developmental psychology, disease pathology and clinical needs of assigned

population

   Highly effective communication is required in order to lead, teach and persuade others in very difficult situations

   Ability to maintain information which is highly confidential

   Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation

   Knowledge of Behavioral Health Integration and demonstrates an understanding of all procedures and legislation, which apply to patients cared for in a mental health setting.

   Knowledge of DSM5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) diagnostic criteria, ICD10 and interquel standards

Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience:

   Minimum one year of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP)

   Minimum two years of experience in behavioral health setting

   Knowledge of patient rights and law pertaining to mental health

   Knowledge of substance abuse counseling or CADC

 Required License/Certificate:

   Current State of Illinois licensure which may include LCSW, LCPC or LCP

   Current State of Illinois driver’s license required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an offsite location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.

   CPI and CPR certification within 90 days of start into the position
