The pay range is $92,000.00 - $166,000.00

Position Summary:

As a Sr. Manager – Business Ops on the Product Safety, Quality and Regulatory (PSQR) team, you will drive Target’s 3rd party lab relationships, governance, and strategy in support of Owned Brands. This role leads the operating cadence, partner performance management, and continuous improvement of global lab policy, procedures, tools, and reporting to ensure PSQ processes meet compliance, quality, and speed-to-market requirements. The Sr. Manager serves as the operational “control tower” connecting internal teams and external lab partners to deliver consistent execution, scalable solutions, and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead PSQR efforts to create quality, safe, and compliant Owned Brand products by owning programs and projects that improve efficiency and execution within Lab strategy and operations.
  • Own governance and delivery of key milestone forums and stakeholder alignment
  • Drive 3rd party lab partner performance management across labs by establishing operating rhythms (e.g., KAM connects), monitoring SLA performance, and leading escalation and resolution of service and system issues.
  • Assess, mitigate, and manage quality risk within Owned Brand categories by identifying lab operational gaps and executing mitigation plans with PSQA and regional partners.
  • Lead development and maintenance of consistent approaches and frameworks for PSQR lab operations and testing governance
  • Collaborate with PSQR and PSQA teams to deliver end-to-end lab solutions, ensuring alignment across strategy, process, execution, and partner accountability.
  • Drive process and tool improvements supporting product testing, issue resolution, and quality analysis, enabling products that foster guest trust, love, and loyalty.
  • Manage, maintain, and update quality and lab governance documentation, ensuring centralized access, version control, and continuity
  • Demonstrate agility in supporting shifting business priorities, new category needs, and evolving guest expectations.

About you:

  • 8+ years of experience in product quality, compliance, testing, and/or quality operations (Owned Brands or retail/manufacturing preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage external partners and service performance through clear governance, SLAs, escalation management, and relationship leadership.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and attention-to-detail skills; comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving closure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; able to influence across internal teams and external organizations at multiple levels.
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and changing environment with strong project/program management discipline.
  • Proficient with common tools (e.g., Outlook, Smartsheet/Planner or equivalents, reporting dashboards) and comfortable learning new systems quickly.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed to support business and partner engagements.
  • Committed to agile learning and continuous improvement.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
