Corporate Finance NY is responsible for all financing activity in Corporate & Institutional Bank (C&IB) within the NY Branch. We manage the balance sheet for C&IB NY, while providing financing solutions for our clients across the FSA platform. Our CME team partners with Client Coverage and Product Specialist teams to drive business growth and efficiently delivering an excellent experience for clients.
As one of two Director’s in Funds NY, you will be a key senior team member who will co-lead a high performing team that provides deal execution, credit analysis, and portfolio risk management for funds sector clients.
This includes pre-deal support, credit structuring and insights, end-to-end credit execution and portfolio and risk management for NAB’s existing and targeted sector customers. 
You will play a fundamental role in expertly managing these responsibilities with key internal and external stakeholders with the objective of appropriately managing the Bank’s risk/reward and enabling NAB to maintain a strong market position with key clients.

Key Accountabilities:

Responsible for managing the ongoing monitoring of the risk profile and compliance requirements of a client portfolio, ensuring risk profile of portfolio is reflective of deal performance, and portfolio hygiene is a good standard.
Take a lead role in transaction execution through overseeing the preparation of credit submissions, financial modelling, reviewing due diligence, negotiating legal documentation and making recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Manage & negotiate client requests, including Refinancings, Consents, Amendments & Waivers.
Stakeholder management, both internal and external.
Provide guidance / coaching to team members, providing day-to-day oversite and management of the Funds CME Team.
Help manage internal reporting requests and ongoing projects within CME.
Assist Client Coverage in achieving Sector Revenue, RoE, Operating Expense goals through supporting portfolio growth initiatives, managing low RoE relationships and growing non-lending revenues

Key Performance Indicators:

Effective portfolio management, risk management and hygiene.
Valued contribution and leadership to transaction execution and credit process as a senior deal team member.
Effective response of client requests, including RFPs, Terms and Conditions, Amendments, Waivers, Consents, etc.
Contribution to key strategic initiatives.
Strong time management and organisational skills, consistently meeting deadlines with a high quality work output.
Key Decisions:
Act as key decision maker for new to bank transactions and across back-book of loans and market positions for funds sector transactions.
Ability to balance time between big picture and day-to-day activities.
Knows when to act independently and when to escalate issues.
Take industry, market trends/ insights and ESG considerations into account when making decisions.

Experience:

Minimum of 7-10+ years Corporate Finance or related experience depending on role. Experience in Funds Finance sectors, ideal.
Well-developed financial modelling, risk assessment and credit writing skills.
Strong understanding of facility documentation, deal structuring and negotiations.

Essential Capabilities:

Strong leadership skills.
Credit writing/presentation skills.
Financial Modelling/ Financial analysis.
Ability to review and negotiate key loan documentation.
Complex loan structuring experience (funds finance, a plus).
Strong communication skills.
Strong decision making capability and ability manage multiple workstreams across a dynamic team.
Taking a lead role in development of the above capabilities in team members.

Qualification Requirements:

Tertiary qualified with a Degree in Law, Finance, Business or Accounting and preference to post graduate qualifications.
