Cboe interns work with a variety of staff across multiple departments and have the opportunity to put their skills to work in their field of interest, while learning about Exchange technology and operations through our robust Options Institute courses.

The three main foundational pillars of our internship program are: develop, educate and network. We want to ensure each of our interns receive a real-world working experience that encourages academic, professional and personal growth.

Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our interns will have the flexibility of working 2 days remotely, and 3 days in office per week at one of our state-of-the-art offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and New York City. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place. The Digital Growth team is hiring for a Digital Growth intern:

The Digital Growth team at Cboe leads our digital marketing strategy across its business lines. Our goal is to create a digital platform to grow the business through areas such as website product management, digital marketing, demand and lead generation, and marketing analytics.

Responsibilities and learning objectives

We are looking for an intern that has a strong interest in using digital frameworks to drive measurable business results. Some possible projects include:

  • Assisting with defining our product roadmap and creating requirements for site features
  • Supporting our digital growth leads in creating and executing on a digital media plan
  • Building an analytics dashboard to measure how our digital programs are doing
  • Doing competitive research on our competitor’s digital presence.

The ideal candidate:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Marketing, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place.
  • Has a natural curiosity about customer psychology. What goes into somebody’s decision making?
  • Enjoys working with data to gather insights on what is and is not working. Understands where data can be firm and where it can be squishy.
  • Has a strong sense of project management. You hit your dates but can be flexible in how you do it in terms of scope and people.
  • Good technical aptitude and curiosity on how digital platforms work. Maybe you have run a blog and know how it works.
  • You are honest on what you do not know and learn your way out of it.

You’ll really stand out with:

  • A portfolio on how you improved a site / app or a digital campaign
  • Experience with data visualization tools and­­/or data analysis
  • Working knowledge of HTML / CSS and Javascript
