Goals:
- Ensure high availability and security by maintaining a robust AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure for optimal performance in development and production environments.
- Enhance automation by streamlining configuration management and deployment processes with modern tools to improve efficiency.
- Optimize application performance through advanced monitoring and analytics to proactively resolve issues and ensure reliability.
- Foster collaboration and best practices by working with cross-functional teams to establish standards in system architecture and DevOps culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure System Reliability: Maintain high availability, security, and performance of production and development environments for applications using AWS and various technologies (NodeJS, Spring Boot, Java, Python).
- Automate and Optimize Processes: Write code to automate configuration management and develop CI/CD pipelines using tools like Terraform, Chef, and Jenkins while optimizing performance through log analytics and monitoring tools.
- Establish Best Practices: Standardize build patterns, document processes, and ensure applications are fully patched and up to date while collaborating with development teams to enhance system architecture and scalability.
- Foster Collaboration and Support: Promote a DevOps culture by building relationships across teams and participating in a rotating 24/7 on-call support schedule for production systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems, or equivalent education and experience.
- Extensive experience with Linux installation and patch management.
- Proficiency in configuration management tools and techniques, including TeamCity, Kotlin, Jenkins, Groovy, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Docker, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Experience in building, testing, deploying, and managing scalable cloud-based infrastructure in medium to large enterprises.
- Solid background in building, securing, and scaling AWS infrastructure and resources.
- Familiarity with source code management systems like GitHub or Bitbucket, including branching and release strategies.
- Programming/scripting skills in languages such as Python, Kotlin, JavaScript, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, or Bash.
- Experience deploying and operating business applications in containerized environments, such as ECS, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Background in high availability environments and scalable applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with application performance management tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics).
- Skills in creating dashboards, logging, alerting, and observability solutions using log analytics tools like CloudWatch, SumoLogic, Splunk, or Dynatrace.
- Familiarity with container development and orchestration technologies (e.g., ECS, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Knowledge of PCI-DSS or experience in a regulated industry.
- Expertise in cloud-native relational and/or NoSQL databases.
