POSITION: Jr. Systems Engineer
LOCATION: Ashburn, VA Hybrid (In the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Job Summary:
Our team is building a dedicated team of System Engineers responsible for designing, implementing & maintaining critical on-premise/cloud infrastructures. The position ensures the stability, integrity and the efficient operation of the IT infrastructure that supports our internal user-base and external clients.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design, implementation and maintaining the IT infrastructure for existing and new corporate offices across the US.
- Serve as an escalation point to resolve critical infrastructure & helpdesk issues.
- Assist with root cause analysis of critical system issues to management.
- Assist with managing and maintaining technical and network documentation.
- Assist and collaborate with IT security team on obtaining and maintaining industry and government compliance standards by implementing and enforcing security controls and policies and performing vulnerabilities assessment, remediation and mitigation tasks.
- Assist with the deployment of High Availability and Failover solutions of infrastructure to reduce or eliminate single point of failures.
- Assist with implementing Microsoft Active Directory best practices for Enterprise environments across multi-forest/domains.
- Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the existing system processes and procedures.
- Train and mentor other team members and peers, as needed.
- Assist with configuration and maintaining:
- Microsoft Windows servers (2008-2019).
- Ubuntu servers.
- Microsoft Failover Clustering and SQL Always On servers.
- Microsoft Azure Subscriptions and cloud resources.
- VMware vSphere Suite (v7.0+).
- Dell Storage Arrays & iSCSI networks.
- Critical network infrastructure to include (but not limited to): Palo Alto NGFW, SonicWALL NGFW, Cisco switching and Ubiquiti wireless networks.
- MFA infrastructure to include (but not limited to): RSA SecurID, Microsoft MFA, and Okta.
- Regular system and data backups with Barracuda & Cohesity appliances.
- Hybrid Azure AD management and troubleshooting.
- Disaster Recovery solutions for mission critical systems to ensure business continuity.
- Office 365 tenants and Office 365 apps to include (but not limited to): Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive.
- Video surveillance systems for corporate facilities and vehicles to include (but not limited to Cradlepoint routers, PRO-vision IP cameras and Exacqvision NVRs.
- Facility access control systems.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is required.
- 2+ years of systems administration experience.
- Microsoft MCP or higher certification is required.
- Cisco CCNA or Network+ certification is required.
- CompTIA Security+ is a plus.
- Solid understanding of networking technologies: TCP/IP, Subnetting, VLANs, VPNs, DHCP, DNS.
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco switching is required.
- Experience with VMware vSphere is required.
- Experience with Microsoft Group Policy is required.
- Experience with Site-to-Site VPN tunnels is required.
- Experience managing and securing Microsoft Windows Server.
- Experience with managing Azure resources is a plus.
- Experience with managing Brivo access control systems is required.
- Experience with managing ExacqVision NVRs is a required.
- Experience with configuring TCP/IP PoE cameras is a required.
- Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Intune, and Azure Virtual Desktop is a plus.
- Must be a United States Citizen
Work Schedule:
Employees will be required to come into the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
