As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves creating tailored software solutions by designing, coding, and improving various components within systems or applications. The role requires working with contemporary development frameworks and following agile methodologies to ensure the delivery of scalable and efficient software that meets unique business requirements. Collaboration with team members and adapting to evolving project needs are integral parts of the daily workflow, fostering innovation and continuous improvement in software products.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement connected vehicle feature software for TCU DCM including OTA client, remote vehicle services, V2X application layer, and fleet telematics
2. Develop vehicle to cloud communication using MQTT, AMQP, REST HTTP, gRPC, and WebSocket protocols for real time telematics data exchange
3. Implement V2X application layer software including ETSI C ITS CAM DENM messages, SAE J2945 BSM, and SPAT MAP for DSRC IEEE 80211p and C V2X LTE V2X
4. Develop OTA update client software including package download management, integrity verification using hash and signature validation, partition switching, and rollback logic
5. Implement FOTA SOTA update agent including Uptane client integration, partition management, update package verification, and rollback safety
6. Implement remote vehicle services including remote start and stop, lock and unlock, climate preconditioning, fuel and charge status, and vehicle health reporting
7. Develop vehicle data management pipelines including CAN SOME IP signal aggregation, data compression using Protocol Buffers and CBOR, and cloud uplift batching
8. Implement security protocols including TLS 1.3 mutual authentication, DTLS for UDP based telematics, certificate provisioning, and PKI integration
9. Execute unit testing, integration testing, and protocol conformance testing for connected vehicle application modules
10. Develop and maintain BSP for TCU DCM embedded platforms including NXP iMX 8M Mini Plus, Qualcomm SDX55 SDX62, Sierra Wireless EM9xxx, and Telit LN940
Professional & Technical Skills:
1. Must Have Proficiency in C C++ and Python for embedded connected vehicle application and telematics software development
2. Must Have Experience with MQTT AMQP REST HTTP and Proto buf JSON protocols for vehicle to cloud communication
3. Must Have Knowledge of V2X communication standards ETSI ITSG5 IEEE 80211p DSRC CV2X LTEV2X PC5 Uu and SAE J2945
4. Must Have Familiarity with telematics protocols OBDII PID data eCall ERAGLONASS UDS over IP and vehicle diagnostic data
5. Must Understand cellular network protocols 4G LTE CatM1 NBIoT 5G NR for automotive IoT and telematics
6. Must Have Knowledge of TLSDTLS security stack PKI certificate management and X509 certificate lifecycle for vehicle connections
7. Good to Have Experience with AUTOSAR Adaptive Com Manager and Communication Management for connected vehicle services
8. Good to Have Knowledge of SDV service oriented architectures DDS Fast DDS Eclipse Zenoh for vehicle data streaming
9. Good to Have Familiarity with cloud IoT platforms AWS IoT Core Azure IoT Hub or GCP IoT for vehicle fleet management
10. Good to Have Exposure to COVESA VSS Vehicle Signal Specification for standardized vehicle data models in connected services
11. Good to Understand ISO SAE 21434 cybersecurity basics and UNECE R155 cybersecurity management requirements
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 4 years of experience in Connected Vehicles and Automotive Telematics or V2X SDV domain.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
