Where you come in: Trainer 2 Job Description

As a Trainer 2, you will play a key role in developing the skills, knowledge, and overall readiness of our Technical Support Representatives. You will deliver high‑quality training, support continuous learning, and help ensure that our teams are equipped to provide exceptional customer support. In this role, you will:

  • Deliver engaging training sessions for new hires and existing employees, covering processes, systems, new products, and new market requirements.
  • Introduce and reinforce Dexcom’s culture and values, ensuring new hires embody our mission from day one and existing staff stay aligned through ongoing development.
  • Stay current on updates and business changes to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and reflective of the latest standards and workflows.
  • Provide individualized coaching and support, reinforcing learning, addressing knowledge gaps, and helping employees apply skills effectively on the job.
  • Contribute to knowledge base improvements by identifying opportunities, providing insights, and assisting in updating documentation and reference materials.
  • Partner with leaders and cross‑functional teams to assess training needs, identify skill gaps, and recommend targeted learning solutions.
  • Support the creation and enhancement of training materials, including instructional guides, manuals, job aids, and other resources that strengthen continuous learning.
  • Participate in training‑related initiatives and improvement projects, contributing to process enhancements, program refinement, and overall training excellence within the function.

What makes a successful Trainer 2:

  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement training and application strategies, convert these into actual application, and deliver results
  • Excellent coaching, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Extensive knowledge of own area within the organization while contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards
  • Extensive understanding of related aspects of sales training processes and/or systems
  • Proven business acumen and working knowledge of a dynamic medical device market environment
  • Ability to communicate complex information internally and externally with diplomacy & clarity
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence others
  • Fluent in English with the ability to confidently convey complex information in a manner that meets the needs of the audience.
