Central Receiving Technician Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm
Job Summary
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for inbound and outbound shipments on the hospital dock

Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
• Visually inspects each shipment to identify any damage or discrepancy and notify the appropriate personnel if needed
• Receive all items, while comparing the packing slip with the Purchase Order, verifying purchase order number and quantities of each item received, and inputs the quantities received into the hospital material management system before delivery of items.
• Makes deliveries to the appropriate department, BioMed, or Facilities and obtains a receipt signature from an authorized agent of the department. Retrieves material to be returned and completes the necessary paperwork to ensure it’s on time delivery from UMC on the same day, or whenever possible.
• Brings all material into the receiving from the loading dock as soon as space allows, maintain a clean and organized work area, while ensuring the loading dock is cleared by close of business each day unless circumstances beyond your control prevent it from so. Ensure loading dock doors are securely locked and all equipment is secured by the end of each work day.
• Vehicle maintenance is to be completed monthly, quarterly, and or yearly as needed, while maintaining records of completed maintenance in a log that is to be turned into the Central Stores Supervisor upon completion.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the offsite warehouse that is to be inspected on monthly basis by the Director of Material Management and or the Central Stores Supervisor.

• Ability to follow instructions for shipping and receiving
• Able to perform routine tasks with large quantities of information
• Able to type 30+ words per minute accurately
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
The position has visibility to all hospital departments
Physical Capabilities
Visual acuity required continuously. Auditory acuity required continuously. Ability to speak is required frequently. Sitting, walking, standing, bending, and carrying are frequent. The technician will be required to lift items up to 100 lbs., reach heights of 8 feet, as well as bend to the floor. The technician should be in reasonably good physical condition and available to spend long periods of time standing on a concrete surface. The technician must be able to endure 6+ hours of mobility, with rapid response.
Environmental/Working Conditions
This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental changes that may include constant change in temperatures.
