Summary
The Precision Signal Chain Group (PSG) is seeking a Senior IC Layout Designer to join our high-performing team, contributing to the development of cutting-edge analog and mixed-signal ICs. This role involves the design and delivery of block-level and top-level layouts, working in close collaboration with IC designers and layout engineers across Europe, Asia, and the USA. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that layout designs meet stringent performance, area, and schedule requirements, with a strong emphasis on precision to support the demanding accuracy needs of our circuits. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a global, cross-functional environment, contributing to the development of precision analog circuits used in a wide range of applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute block-level and top-level layout of analog and mixed-signal circuits using Cadence Virtuoso XL
  • Collaborate with circuit designers to understand design intent, critical matching requirements, and parasitic extraction
  • Perform floorplanning, placement, routing, and full physical verification (LVS, DRC, ERC, Antenna, Density) using industry-standard tools such as Calibre
  • Participate in top-level chip integration, ensuring seamless integration of IP blocks and adherence to design constraints
  • Support design reviews, provide documentation, and contribute to layout planning and scheduling
  • Work with global teams to ensure design quality and timely delivery, while continuously improving layout methodologies and flows

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience in block-level layout and exposure to top-level or chip-level layout
  • Strong understanding of layout fundamentals, including matching, parasitics, shielding, and noise isolation
  • Familiarity with semiconductor device physics, cross-sections, and layout implications
  • Proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso XL and Calibre verification tools
  • Experience with precision analog circuits (e.g., ADCs, DACs, amplifiers, references), high-voltage circuits (e.g., DMOS), or high-speed circuits is a strong advantage
  • Knowledge of layout flows such as Analog-on-Top (AoT) or Digital-on-Top (DoT) is a plus

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant IC layout experience in analog/mixed-signal design environments

Additional Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-site, multi-cultural team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as SKILL or PERL is a plus
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning and process improvement
