Job Summary

Manages department or work group. Supervises and controls annual budgets. Collaborates in planning, work flow analysis, procedure changes, scheduling and related administrative duties. Facilitates issue identification and resolution.

                         

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Manages department operations and personnel.
  • Completes staffing, training, work flow analysis and performance management.
  • Manages staffing to ensure appropriate allocation and compliance with goals and objectives.
  • Monitors quality and financial performance.
  • Ensures compliance with government health regulations, JCAHO guidelines, quality requirements and customer service standards.
  • Recommends enhancement and cost saving strategies.
  • Resolves interdepartmental issues to ensure consistency in quality, procedure and policy application.
  • Develops, monitors and implements programs to enhance customer service, develop skills and improve scope of service.
  • Analyzes programs and makes improvements. Participates in managers meetings and relevant committees as assigned by Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Associate’s degree required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related field preferred.
  • A High School diploma/GED and five years of experience may substitute the work experience and education requirements.  
  • A Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience may substitute the work experience requirement.

Certifications:

  • None required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to take appropriate action in a stressful environment.

Work Experience:

  • Three years of team lead, supervisory or management experience required. 
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
