Job Description:
The Manager, Project Services – Controls is responsible for the overall success of the Food Retail Controls Project Services function within the Cold Chain business. This role encompasses Project Management functions supporting controls, HVACR systems, monitoring, commissioning, integrations, and field-executed projects for food retail customers. These functions support project execution from the quoting stage through the closing stage.
The Manager, Project Services – Controls ensures projects are delivered safely, on-time, and on-budget while meeting or exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs). The role establishes clear ownership, defined workflows, and disciplined execution across the team. This position plays a critical role in supporting growth by scaling people, processes, and financial reporting capabilities to meet increasing demand within the Food Retail Controls market.
AS A MANAGER, PROJECT SERVICES-CONTROLS, YOU WILL:
Lead and scale the Project Services team to support growth in controls, CO₂, monitoring, and retrofit programs
Ensure consistent execution of Food Retail projects from quote through closeout, meeting financial, operational, and customer KPIs
Strengthen financial rigor across the team, including forecasting accuracy, margin performance, labor utilization, and cost control
Build and develop Project Managers and Technical Services resources through coaching, performance management, and clear expectations
Support revenue growth by enabling efficient project delivery and strong customer relationships
Ensure Project Services operations remain uninterrupted and develop contingency and coverage plans as needed
Track projects and programs, providing financial, operational, and execution reporting as required
Manage governance processes to plan, prioritize, track, and align project work; adhere to PMO methodologies, tools, guidelines, and standards; conduct project postmortems and stop/start/continue reviews
Manage and monitor project schedules, progress, and costs to ensure delivery on time and within budget; maintain and update project plans as needed and ensure issue resolution
Utilize interpersonal skills, problem solving, and managerial judgment to address execution, customer, and team challenges
Build and maintain strong relationships across Sales, Field Services, Technical Services, Supply Chain, Finance, and other Cold Chain functions
Coordinate reporting across Food Retail Project Services and identify key information requiring management attention and escalation
Ensure PMO standards and processes are consistently applied across Food Retail projects and support continuous improvement efforts
Work cross-functionally to align meeting cadence, agendas, and outcomes; execute discussions and document and communicate results
Daily & Monthly Activities
Report out on Food Retail Project Services performance including financial, operational, and execution metrics
Establish objectives and goals aligned with annual operating plans and business strategy
Assess performance gaps and identify, plan, and implement corrective or preventative actions
Conduct root cause analysis to address delivery, financial, or process issues
Publish weekly and monthly forecasts, percent complete, and forecast accuracy metrics
Support work planning and workload management, including integrated capacity and demand planning
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
3+ years of people management experience within project services, operations, or technical service organizations
Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, margin management, and performance reporting
Demonstrated leadership, facilitation, time management, and organizational skills
Experience working in matrixed and cross-cultural environments
Experience supporting food retail, refrigeration controls, or CO2-related projects preferred

Collaboration First Hybrid Work Arrangements:
This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs.
