What you'll be doing
The Senior Consultant, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Strategic Initiatives & Regulatory Reporting is responsible for supporting governance and oversight activities related to AML regulatory reporting processes. The Senior Consultant will work closely with Enterprise AML (EAML) teams and business partners within CIBC to ensure the completeness and accuracy of processes, controls, records management. The Senior Consultant also works collaboratively to support audit and examination readiness, deficiency/risk item management and participating in meetings and discussions.
You will play a critical role in maintaining strong governance by overseeing documentation and contributing to the continuous improvement and effectiveness of AML procedures.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
· Regulatory Reporting –. Enhance oversight of regulatory reporting processes and communicate quality updates in a timely manner. .
· Process and Control Improvements – Advise on process improvements, control enhancements, and technology solutions to ensure accurate and effective oversight large cash transactions, electronic funds transfers, and suspicious transactions reporting
· Thought Leadership – Apply critical thinking and end-to-end understanding of EAML regulatory reporting processes to help shape the most efficient and effective framework possible.
· Influence and Collaboration – Work with support teams and senior management to implement improvements to EAML regulatory reporting oversight and manage multiple priorities across functions.
· Business effectiveness - Support the team by leading activities such as representing Strategic Initiatives and Regulatory Reporting in various forums and supporting presentations and other updates as required to profile and communicate business priorities, results, and initiatives.
Who you are
· You can demonstrate experience and knowledge in AML regulations. You can demonstrate experience and knowledge in AML regulations and practices and related regulatory compliance including regulatory reporting to FINTRAC. You have strong written and oral communication skills.
· You have relevant education and certifications. ACAMS accreditation is considered an asset.
· You’re a strategic problem solver. You demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving skills, providing advice to senior management for compliance and risk management solutions.
