Position: Software Engineer III
Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Build and operate highly scalable backend services that can serve thousands of requests per second to serve Advertisements on Walmart.com. Leverage open source technologies like Storm, Kafka to build high performance and scalable solutions for improving the latencies of the services. Architect and improve backend software system and data pipelines. Identify existing bugs, flaws, leaks, and fix the gaps in systems. Develop robust, maintainable, reusable code and software tools for managing configuration, deployment, monitoring, performance, scalability, availability, security and alerting for test, integration and production environments. Identify the bottlenecks, fine-tune the services, and explore state-of-the-art technologies to migrate existing services to improve efficiency and failure-rates and meet SLAs.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
Skills Required: Experience coding in an object oriented programming language. Experience designing and implementing REST APIs using web framework. Experience designing and implementing a real time data streaming pipeline. Experience implementing and integrating NoSQL Databases onto real time pipelines. Experience implementing Distributed Event Streaming platform for real time pipelines. Experience with unit test framework. Experience with project management tool Jira. Experience with Code Version Control System Git. Experience developing and maintaining high scale distributed services. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $150,762/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
