Why this role is important?
This position is responsible for:
The management and coordination of all operational processes of the Central Pharmacy Services team performing non-production/cognitive services and to ensure optimal service to client pharmacies and patients. The incumbent will monitor the performance and development of the team, ensure quality management, and identify process improvements to ensure a best-in-class customer experience.
Nature and Scope:
The Operations Manager, Central Pharmacy Services must have effective team leadership skills, an acute customer service focus, and effective problem solving abilities in order to deliver on key business objectives. Active interaction with other leadership team members is a key responsibility to ensure overall business objectives are achieved.
What you'll do:
Responsible for assisting management with delivering on business objectives defined for the team members such as productivity plans and service level metrics.
Responsible for providing direct management to the Team Lead(s) and/or Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants to ensure success with overall objectives.
Work with Colleagues to cover off periods of absence, high workload, or any other instance as required to ensure that there are no gaps in frontline duties or team supervision.
Responsible for driving continuous quality improvement for each team member.
Responsible for implementation of new programs as required.
Responsible identifying program improvement opportunities to deliver value to stores and patients.
Responsible for overseeing the training of all new staff and maximizing the effectiveness of each individual through further training opportunities as required.
Will be required to work as part of the Operations schedule to ensure adequate support for team members.
Responsible for supporting front line operations during peak volume periods, when there are low resources, or when determined by the needs of the business.
What you bring:
Insured and currently licensed with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A) in good standing
Minimum of 5 years of experience as licensed, practicing pharmacist, preferred
Qualified to counsel patients in English (bilingualism is an asset)
Exceptional verbal skills and written communication skills
Strong quality orientation, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and adhere to compliance/audit requirements
Identifies and proposes solutions that benefit all parties involved in a situation
Maintain high ethical standards
Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
Shoppers Drug Mart store experience and HealthWATCH experience an asset
Must be able to work independently as well as a team player.
Strong management, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Must have the ability to prioritize and schedule daily activities while working under tight time constraints. Ontario Pharmacist license in good standing
Exceptional interpersonal & leadership skills, including experience building and developing, and motivating high-quality teams
Strong leadership skills, demonstrated ability to managing others while adhering to organization values and policies
Comfortable in dealing with ambiguity; ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated environment.
Strong relationship building capabilities and capacity to work in a fast paced, multiple project environment
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
Ability to delegate responsibility
