SMX is seeking a Systems Engineer (Journeyman) to support the E-2/C-2 Airborne Command and Control Systems Program Office (PMA 231) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD.
 
This candidate will be providing Systems Engineering support with responsibilities involving coordination of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) efforts with France. This Program Office provides the E-2C Hawkeye, E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, and the C-2A Greyhound fleet ensuring mission readiness for airborne early warning, command, and logistics support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems
  • Guide the engineering development of modern complex systems
  • Employ systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems
  • Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.

Required Skills & Experience: 

  • Clearance Required: Secret
    • US Citizenship is required for work on DoD contract
  • Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related to the labor category description is required
  • Demonstrated experience in the area of engineering expertise is required
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders across U.S. Navy, partners, and industry to ensure program milestones and deliverables are met

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Prior involvement with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs desired
  • Understanding of program management, acquisition processes, and international defense cooperation strongly desired

$73,100$121,800 USD
