We’re looking for an IT Testing Analyst with a strong background in business organization. This role is essential for the IT reliability of the company and the risk management, with support and collaboration from cross-functional teams in IT, Information Security, Compliance, Risk, and Legal.

Responsibilities

This role focuses on a specialized, technical approach to quality assurance within the Payments Entity Management domain, encompassing advanced testing across functional, data, security, and integration layers.

Core Technical & Data Validation:

  • Validate the accuracy of SQL logic querying large data sets and ensuring flawless data mapping to eBay’s data systems.
  • Conduct structured functional and API testing. Validate end-to-end data flows and system-to-system integrations across all application layers.
  • Proactively analyze functional and technical specifications to identify potential test scenarios, edge cases, data risks, and pre-release security weaknesses.

Security & Governance Testing:

  • Complete vulnerability testing based on OWASP standards, focusing on areas like authentication, role-based access controls, injection exposure, privilege escalation, and insecure configurations.
  • Validate approval workflows, permission matrices, audit logs, and traceability mechanisms to ensure strict governance and regulatory compliance.

Defect Management & Automation Support:

  • Build technically detailed defect reports. Support log analysis, query validation, and reproduction of issues at the API and database levels. Validate all fixes in controlled testing environments.
  • Contribute to API and UI automation script development. Support the integration of testing processes into CI/CD pipelines and leverage scripting/query-based validation to minimize manual effort.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects in large, distributed organizations.
  • Comfortable growing in fast-paced, high-autonomy environments with evolving priorities.
  • Strong communicator with executive presence, adept at managing collaborators across regions and time zones.
  • Highly collaborative, with outstanding problem-solving skills and good judgment.
  • Analytical, diligent, and security-conscious approach.
  • Convey complex technical security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
  • DBA experience or equivalent experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 1–3 years experience in IT testing / QA in technical environments.
  • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) and Tableau dashboards.
  • Experience with scripting/programming skills (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell, Java, Perl, Rust, Golang, J2EE, .NET, JavaScript, etc).
  • Familiarized with the latest exploits and security trends.
  • Familiarity with APIs and backend validation (e.g., Postman).
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and basic ethical hacking principles.
  • Exposure to automation tools (e.g., Selenium) and defect tracking systems (Jira/Azure DevOps).
