Job Summary:

This position is a pivotal leadership role responsible for orchestrating strategic initiatives that optimize operational efficiency, enhance sustainability, and elevate the overall workplace experience across our portfolio. This individual will provide strategic leadership, technical expertise, and team and vendor management skills to ensure that all facilities are in optimal working conditions to support a safe, healthy, and productive work environment.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

  • Cost Optimization: Implementing data-driven maintenance schedules, predictive analytics, and energy-efficient practices, resulting in substantial cost savings while maintaining service excellence.
  • Utility Specifications: Define and develop specifications for building utilities and FLS systems for new and existing facilities.
  • Risk Mitigation: Spearheading robust risk assessment protocols, disaster preparedness plans, and compliance frameworks to safeguard our facilities against unforeseen disruptions.
  • Sustainability Advancements: Championing eco-friendly practices, renewable energy adoption, and waste reduction programs, aligning our facilities with environmental stewardship goals.
  • Employee Well-Being: Elevating workplace comfort, safety, and wellness through ergonomic designs, enhanced air quality, and thoughtful amenities, fostering a positive employee experience.
  • Standardization: Harmonizing facility management processes, vendor relationships, and performance metrics across diverse regions, ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Innovation and Technology Integration: Leveraging smart building solutions, IoT, and automation to enhance facility monitoring, maintenance, and resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, executives, and external partners to align facility strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Capital Planning: Lead life cycle analysis efforts to provide forward-looking plan for capital needs to fund replacement, optimization and improvement for facilities assets.
  • Vendor Management: Participate in vendor selection and the negotiation, coordination and execution of vendor contracts and work.

SCOPE & IMPACT: 

This role plays a pivotal role in shaping our organization’s strategic decisions across our North American manufacturing portfolio, influencing operational efficiency, sustainability, and employee well-being. By optimizing resource allocation, mitigating risks, championing eco-friendly practices, and fostering a positive workplace experience, this role contributes directly to our success.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully managing multi-million-dollar capital projects.
  • Knowledge of building automation technologies, security systems and facility infrastructure assets.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Formal Project Management experience
  • CMRP, CRL, CRE
  • Experience with MS Office, MS Project and MS Visio application software, as well as mainframe applications.
  • Experience with process improvement tools such as ISO 9000, Lean Manufacturing, TPS, Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5-S, VFM, RCPS, VPM, DFM and FMEA
  • SolidWorks 3D and/or AutoCAD experience

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Up to 10 direct reports (technical or engineering professionals)
