About the Role

We are seeking a DataStage Developer with 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in IBM InfoSphere DataStage to support enterprise data warehouse (EDW) environments and financial applications. You will develop robust ETL processes, ensure platform stability, and collaborate across business and technology functions to deliver high‑quality, scalable data solutions.

Essential Job Functions


You will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage (aligned with competitive postings requiring design, build, and optimization)
  • Support and troubleshoot L1, L2, and L3 incidents across EDW and financial systems
  • Analyze and optimize ETL job performance (a common employer expectation in Chicago postings)
  • Develop SQL queries and stored procedures to support data transformations and validation processes
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with data engineers, architects, QA, and business analysts
  • Contribute to data migration, modernization, and transformation initiatives (a key requirement shown in Deloitte & Dice listings
  • Ensure data integrity, reliability, and operational excellence in production environments

Basic Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of hands‑on experience as a DataStage Developer (industry‑aligned experience range)
  • Experience with L1, L2, and L3 support for EDW and financial applications
  • Strong experience with SQL (Oracle/DB2 preferred), ETL development, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Unix shell scripting (frequently listed in competitor roles)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in agile, cross‑functional teams

Preferred Qualifications (Competitively Added)

  • Experience with performance tuning and workload optimization in DataStage ETL jobs
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms or modern data engineering tools (e.g., ADF, Databricks, Spark) – frequently preferred in high‑tier listings

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience working in financial services or regulated industries

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $73,400 - $136,300.
