Remote within California, ~25-35% travel for in-person events.

We are seeking an Event Coordinator to join the Foundation in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. What You’ll Do

The Conferences and Events Coordinator position is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong skills in planning, and execution to support events for the Foundation for California Community Colleges and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. You’ll be a part of the dynamic non-profit team facilitating collaboration, accelerating innovation and increasing system wide resources.   


The Event Coordinator will support Event Specialists on their larger events while also manage smaller in-person, hybrid or virtual events from conception to execution and post-event wrap up.

  • Assist with client Intake, Planning and/or Debrief Meetings.
  • Assist with Venue Management: RFP Management, analysis, selection, and site visits, Venue Contracts, Banquet Event Orders and AV Contracts.
  • Assist with Event Technology: Registration, Event Platform, Auxiliary, and Networking.
  • Assist with Event Communications Plans for both the Speakers and Attendees.
  • Assist with the creation and/or review process of event registration sites and/or communication deliverables.
  • Manage and update event documents: Run of Show, Planning Timeline, Internal & External Documents.
  • Provide support and/or manage on-site needs: registration desk, food and beverage, speakers, and other onsite logistics as needed.
  • Contribute to team effort by completing other projects and tasks as assigned.

  • Ability to understand and deliver on budgets and complex timelines.

  • Strong remote work productivity and ability to multitasking as projects arise
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) event registration software, scheduling tools, CRM (such as Salesforce), task management tool (like Asana) and other standard office software and equipment. Proficiency with Google Suite (Including Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and other functions within Google)

Budgeted Hourly Pay Range:

$24.04 - $25.00

Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
