We have a well-established global Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) team, which supports the firm on a wide range of business development, marketing and client relationship management activities. The team is divided into several key areas: including practice M&BD, clients and sectors, pitches and pursuits, which manage strategic global and regional pitches; corporate communications, which comprises public relations, brand, design, events, and digital; and campaigns and projects. 

The UK Events team delivers a diverse portfolio of client-focused and internal events, including conferences, seminars, dinners, experiential events, corporate hospitality and webinars.

Working Hours

35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required.  We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns.  Our approach to hybrid working allows for up to 40% of time working from home and 60% working in the office, please contact a member of the recruitment team to discuss further.

Role Overview

An exciting opportunity to join a leading global law firm as an Events Adviser on a 12 Months Fixed Term Contract. We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional self-starter who can quickly adapt and contribute effectively to the UK Events team, delivering the firm’s event programme in collaboration with M&BD colleagues.

Success in this role requires strong project management skills, strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services. All members of the firm participate in our Responsible
Business program.

  • Project manage a portfolio of small to medium sized client and internal events (in-person and virtual) from initial brief to post event analysis.

  • Support senior colleagues on large scale, high-profile events.

  • Coordinate logistics, including venue sourcing, delegate and speaker management, supplier liaison, AV requirements, theming and internal / external communications.

  • Stakeholder management with internal and external contacts, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the event lifecycle.

  • Budget management, negotiation, invoice management and data analysis post-event.

  • Create invitations using our email marketing system (I-Publish) and manage invitation lists via our CRM system (InterAction).

  • Update the firm’s website and intranet site with up-to-date information on forthcoming events.

  • Collaborate closely with M&BD colleagues and partners to ensure seamless delivery and exceptional client experience.

  • ROI analysis in conjunction with M&BD colleagues, reviewing event outcomes and providing high-level insights to support future planning.

  • Updating and maintaining team best practice guidance.

Skills & Experience

Qualifications & Training

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a corporate events role (professional services / legal preferred).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of InterAction (or similar CRM system).

  • Knowledge of Ipublish (or similar email marketing tool).

General Attributes

  • Proven track record of delivering successful in-person and virtual events in a corporate environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
