WinField United Market Development Agronomist Intern, Summer 2025

Available Locations:

  • Southern, Central, or Western Minnesota
  • Eastern Iowa (Ames, Mason City, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls)
  • Coastal East (Tennessee, Kentucky, Footprint of Hopkinsville, KY to North AL corridor)

Internship Duration: 11 weeks (May – August 2025)

The Market Development Agronomist Intern will attend  Land O’Lakes Internship Orientation in late May at Land O’Lakes headquarters in Arden Hills, MN to kickoff the summer internship. As a Market Development Agronomist Intern, you will contribute to advancing our seed and crop protection products by conducting research and analysis, collaborating with your local team on your project, and supporting the MDA and sales team with agronomic insights that aide sales execution. 

 

At the conclusion of the summer, WinField MDA Interns will have the opportunity to deliver a final presentation on key deliverables to the WinField United leadership team at headquarters. This internship is a gateway to our WinField United Associate Program, Market Development Agronomist track, a 2-year rotational program leading to roles such as Market Development Agronomist, Lead Market Development Agronomist, or advanced agronomic sales positions. 

 

Interns are paid $24.00/hour. Relocation assistance may be provided to eligible candidates for the duration of the summer internship.   

 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Sophomore or Junior (preferred) undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor’s in Agronomy, Crop & Soil Science, Ag Systems Technology, Digital Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field of study

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 

  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Interest in pursuing advanced degree in Agronomy, Crop Sciences, or related field  

  • Interest in technical agronomy and becoming a subject matter expert 

  • Prior experience in sales or ag retail, with a focus on customer interaction 

  • Familiarity with the ag retail system

  • Strong organizational abilities 

  • Independent work and time management 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration tools
