Minimum Requirements:

  • Second (2nd) or Third (3rd) Class Power Engineering technical diploma or relevant university degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • Experience on large resource projects working for Owner Organizations or for major contractor firms
  • Five (5) years team leadership experience on execution of diverse projects varying in size, scope and complexity
  • Increasing knowledge of practices and processes of project disciplines and support functions (i.e. EHS, engineering, construction, project controls, SCM etc.)
  • Ten (10) years previous field experience in Oil and Gas (Oilsands / SAGD Operations operating environment)
  • Commissioning & Start-up and/or past Major Project experience an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Detailed project planning with a focus on Operations, Maintenance and Reliability deliverables.
  • Interface with Production Unit teams, EPC’s and project stakeholders to meet desired project outcomes.
  • Accountable for development and execution of Ready for Operations (RFO) plan through each stage of the project.
  • Collaborate with Construction, Completions & Commissioning (CC&C) team to meet all Ready for Operation (RFO) deliverables. This includes but not limited to developing Operations Procedures and Training Plans.
  • Responsible for assigned scope management, including but not limited to safety, project deliverables, cost, quality assurance, and schedule.
  • Assist in the development of the Integrated Project Execution Plan, and manage project work and integrated team members to ensure that the plan is adhered to and is updated as required
  • Provide input to Scope, Schedule, Cost and Quality Management planning, and manage updates for project scope throughout the life of the project, ensuring alignment to project Business Objectives, as defined in project approvals
  • Monitor and validate project KPIs for managed scope and input to project stewardship
  • Provide input to Stakeholder Management requirements for the project, and ensure that stakeholders are appropriately managed and aligned with project objectives
  • Participate and/or support/mentor project team members in design reviews, estimate and schedule reviews, optimization activities, constructability reviews, model reviews, HAZOPS, etc.

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • This position is security sensitive which requires you to clear a criminal history check
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
