We are seeking a Senior Product Owner (Technical) for our Postgres migration program. This role requires a unique blend of product management skills and deep technical expertise in databases, DevOps, and system performance. The Technical Product Owner will define scope, prioritize features, and ensure successful delivery of database transformation initiatives while collaborating with engineering, product, and contractor teams. This role will report into the Director - Product Management for Payments Infra & Platform.
Key Responsibilities
Own the product roadmap for Postgres implementation for GPP product.
Define and manage scope, strategy, and incremental migration plans.
Collaborate with product managers to prioritize file uploads, scope & features in a phase-wise manner for the Postgres implementation requirements.
Define technical requirements for performance tuning, DR and high availability architecture, DevOps integration and other Non-Functional aspects
Evaluate hybrid approaches and AI-driven solutions for stored procedure conversion.
Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Postgres and Oracle coexistence strategies.
Ensure delivery within budget and timelines, balancing short-term solutions with long-term modernization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager in database-heavy environments.
Strong expertise in Postgres (setup, configuration, tuning, HA, migrations).
Familiarity with Oracle databases and hybrid migration strategies.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database systems.
Experience with Non-Functional Testing (NFT) and performance benchmarking.
Ability to evaluate and integrate AI-driven automation for database migration.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and MS ecosystem (development, architecture, security) . Distributed systems design.
Good understanding of cloud-native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps best practices.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Essential Qualifications
Academic background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
8–12 years of overall experience in Banking or Payments software or infrastructure domains.
Experienced as Product owner, Requirements Analyst or System Architect.
Proven experience in designing end-to-end product solutions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Technical Knowledge
Java 11/17/21 or higher, JSP/Angular UI , Kafka, Apache Camel, Vert.X , PostgreSQL, Oracle database, Kubernetes, JBoss/WildFly/Weblogic, MQ, Grafana, Prometheus, Logstash,
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Financial services , Banking , Payments related enterprise-scale database systems.
Prior involvement in large-scale modernization programs.
