Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a Systems Engineering Manager to join our team. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person. This role can work on-site at either our Walnut Creek or Irvine offices.
The System Engineer Manager’s primary role will be to manage a team of Engineers who support the bank’s infrastructure and applications. This role will be responsible for day to day operational management, maintaining acceptable KPI performance and partnering with internal business partners and application
managers to deliver a stable and high performance server platform environment. This position requires a high degree of dedication to consistently excellent service delivery and will mentor and coach team members as well as provide technical leadership.
What you will be doing:
Daily management and support of Engineering teams
Management BAU and Project related activities for the Platform Services Team.
Develops goals and training programs for engineering staff and tracks performance.
Accountable for Upgrades, patching and optimization of application ecosystems from operating system to application and databases.
Hands-on troubleshooting and engineering related activities as needed to ensure team performance.
Partners with internal and external stakeholders to ensure stable, highly available and high performing server platforms and related services.
Conducts regular meetings with staff including status team meetings
Ability to be flexible in a dynamic and changing environment. Ability to communicate business changes rapidly and effectively.
Who you are:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred, and a minimum of 5 years experience required.
Expert ability to manage various simultaneous work streams effectively and make decisions in pressure situations.
Strong track record of building cohesive IT teams and delivering a great customer service experience for stakeholders.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows and/or Linux server operating
systems.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
Familiarity with Security best practices and the ability to follow regulatory
guidance.
Strong knowledge of database and application architecture concepts and
technologies.
Ability to participate in budget planning and tracking.
Expert Troubleshooting skills.
Strong communications skills with an emphasis on effective customer
service.
Demonstrate organizational, analytic, prioritization, critical thinking, and time-management skills.
Proficient understanding of engineering architecture and design concepts along with basic understanding of the engineering practices and procedures required to develop, test and deploy systems.
Understanding of Active Directory Role Server, and OU architecture,
understanding of principles surrounding DNS and DHCP
General knowledge of techniques for explaining technical concepts and
procedures to non-technical users.
Understanding and or experience with Azure technologies, O365, and
Microsoft Exchange.

Salary Range: $100,000-135,000 annually
Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
