Introduction to the job

An interesting position for a person who feels challenged in securing industrialization of New Product Introduction (NPI) systems, improving the production process to ensure product quality, short lead-times, high efficiency and ‘short time to market’ for Production. You are the factory conscience for technical improvement and process optimalization EUV.

Summarizing, the goal is to secure a smooth industrialization, NPI in 5 introduction by design, maintain, and optimize production processes and adapt to changed output requirements. Develop and apply methods of measuring the performance of the production process. Support manufacturing in order to ensure product quality, industrialization, short lead-times and ‘short time to market’.

Roles and responsibilities

With the NPI focus you are early involved into design reviews and support early executions of new system types within the Veldhoven factory and at our customers in the field, to secure flawless introduction and ready for volume.

EF NPI Production Engineers contribute to the 4 main PE drivers:

  • Decrease cycle time,

  • Decrease cost,

  • Increase efficiency,

  • Increase quality.

EF NPI Production Engineers focus on the following tasks:

New Product Introduction:

  • Securing the EF factory voice into the Product Generation Process (PGP)

  • Uses his knowledge in product or process development projects, in order to foresee production problems in the design phase and improve the manufacturability of the product

  • Is actively involved in the release for volume takeover from Development & Engineering (D&E) to Manufacturing.

  • Secures the factory voice into the industrialization processes

  • Defining a roadmap to make the industrialization a success for upcoming configurations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously adapt, optimize operating instructions, process flow charts, routings, process parameters and indicators;

  • Analyze the production process, points out structural problems and bottlenecks, work out suggestions for improvements and initiates their implementation, often in close cooperation with the surrounded departments as Development, Supply Chain and Customer Support.

Support/2nd line support:

  • Contribute to the rapid solution of complex faults and take the necessary initiatives and practical decisions. Ensure zero repeat;

  • Troubleshoot;

  • For regular support stand-by might be required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor or Master in technical degree (or equivalent)

  • 2 years of experience in a production environment with high tech products and complex production processes, preferably in both assembly and test environment

  • Experience in the field of Technical Production Engineering and quality methodology such as statistical process control and Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA)

  • Experience with Agile / Scrum methodology

  • Able to travel when needed, up to 10%

Other information

The sector Operations is responsible for the production of wafer scanners. The complete production process of the most advanced machines takes place within Manufacturing.

The EUV Factory (EF) produces the newest generation wafer scanners. Within this Factory, Production Engineering NPI (EF ENG PE NPI) continuously adapts, optimizes and supports the production processes of production with the main focus on the new product introductions (including the system installation and qualification process at the customer location). This to secure a good flow and capability for higher move rates for the volume engineering teams
