About This Opportunity
The Property and Facilities Division is seeking a reliable and hands-on Stores and Logistics Assistant to join the Warehouse and Mailroom team at UQ.
This role became available following the internal movement of the previous incumbent and presents a strong opportunity for succession within a critical operational area. The position supports day-to-day campus operations through logistics, removals, warehousing and mail services, ensuring the timely and safe movement of goods, equipment and materials across UQ campuses.
This is a practical role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, variety in their day and being part of a small, collaborative team delivering essential services.
Key responsibilities will include:
Undertaking small office relocations, furniture moves and waste disposal
Processing, preparation and dispatch of internal and external mail
Receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching products and equipment
Supporting inventory control, record keeping and basic data entry
Maintaining warehouse standards and safe work practices
Collection, transport and delivery of mail, stores, furniture, library materials and equipment
Providing support across all aspects of warehouse and mailroom operations
Backfilling for team members and assisting with additional duties as required

About You:
Completion of Year 12, or Certificate II with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Forklift license preferred
Physically fit and able to safely perform manual handling duties
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a hands-on operational environment
Sound communication and customer service skills
Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices
Current Queensland Open Driver Licence
Basic computer literacy, with willingness to learn warehouse and logistics systems
