CLA is growing and seeking to hire an experienced Manager of Cloud Operations to join our talented Information Technology team. The position offers growth, flexibility and a collaborative work environment.
This role leads the day-to-day performance, security, and reliability of cloud and on-premises infrastructure. This role combines hands-on technical oversight with strategic leadership to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
How you’ll create opportunities in this Manager of Cloud Operations role:
Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight for cloud operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and IT strategy.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cloud operations professionals, including Analysts, Seniors, and Leads, fostering collaboration and growth.
Operational Excellence: Oversee the monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of cloud and hybrid infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.
Automation & Innovation: Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and other automation tools to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
Collaboration & Integration: Partner with development, security, and infrastructure teams to support the deployment and lifecycle management of cloud-native and hybrid applications.
Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to cloud security best practices, compliance standards, and internal policies. Lead audits and risk assessments.
Incident Management: Direct the resolution of complex cloud infrastructure issues and lead incident response efforts, including root cause analysis and preventive measures.
Capacity Planning: Manage cloud resource planning, budgeting, and cost optimization initiatives.
Documentation & Standards: Establish and enforce operational standards, procedures, and documentation practices across the team.
On-Premises Oversight: Provide leadership for on-premises data center operations and ensure seamless integration with cloud environments.
On-Call Support: Oversee the on-call rotation schedule and ensure adequate coverage and escalation procedures.
What you will need:
7 years of experience required.
Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and DevOps practices. Familiarity with ITIL practices and cloud cost management strategies. Working knowledge of Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), IAM, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Cloud Security, Linux, Python or Bash scripting, PowerShell, Docker, Git, DevOps, Spacelift, M365. prefered
