The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Journeyman Mechanical Technician for technical support at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) Memphis Detachment.

This employee will perform repair, installation, maintenance, and operation of mechanical systems in support of Test and Evaluation of DoD ship systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to plan and schedule repairs.
  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any problems.
  • Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures. Inspect and maintain plumbing systems to guarantee maximum operation.
  • Recommend cost-effective changes in equipment design to improve reliability and safety and timeliness.
  • Interpret engineering designs, plans, and diagrams. Provide technical solutions to mechanical problems.
  • Operate large, complex machinery and test facilities such as the Large Cavitation Channel, and adhering to procedures and safety practices.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Trade school/trade license, or minimum of 3 or more years of related experience in building maintenance technology or relevant field, or a certification in Engineering Technology from a community college or vocation-technical school.
  • Understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques of heavy machinery or equipment
  • Experience in industrial, heavy manufacturing, or hydromechanical environments. Effective problem-solving abilities with written and verbal communication skills.
  • Compliance with health/safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a team or individually.
  • US Citizen Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

Pay Range:

This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.
 

Minimum Required Hourly Wage:

$21.52
