Join this high impact team as a Network Engineer (P3 - Principal Specialist) to ensure the smooth operation of classified network infrastructure at our Raytheon/RTX locations. The installation, maintenance, support, and monitoring of the network infrastructure will be performed. Candidate must have advanced background supporting networks and have an active US Secret Security Clearance to be considered. This role is in Tucson, AZ and the role will be onsite at our facilities there to work in classified computing areas. This role is in Collateral areas.  This role is relocation eligible if the selected applicant meets company policy criteria.   

What you will Do: 

  • Focuses on Inter-team communication and organization of clear documentation of network details to support and enable smooth project growth. 
  • We ideally need someone with Cisco ISE experience with 802.1X, SolarWinds, and setting up client server environments for government networks. 
  • Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network. 
  • Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors etc. 
  • Maintains network management software platforms. 
  • Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings aligning with future requirements factoring in redundancy and required network uptime. 
  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Where no documentation exists, new documentation will be created. 
  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems. 
  • Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for network equipment or with vendors for third-party support. 
  • Network designs that include selection of hardware and software packages, hierarchical architecture, and geographical limitations. 
  • Work with program engineers to resolve networking problems in tactical environments.  
  • Assist in the overall performance and capability of technical team through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing. 
  • Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed. 
  • Must be able to work with general supervision and follow established procedures. 

  

What you will Learn: 

  • You will apply your Network Engineering skills to defense-oriented programs. 
  • Obtain Certifications in Security+ within 6 months and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly desired within a year. 

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience. 
  • Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and/or intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades. 
  • Active, In-Scope and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.   U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. 

Qualifications We Prefer: 

  • Certifications in Security+ within 6 months and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly desired within a year. 
  • We ideally need someone with Cisco ISE experience with 802.1X, SolarWinds, and setting up client server environments for government networks. 
  • Experience with current cabling and fiber standards. 
  • Experience with access control list, security posture, and vendor best practices. 
  • Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities. 
  • 1-2 years of experience with network management software. 
  • Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed. 
  • Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices. 
  • Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications. 
  • Experience with platforms such as IP telephony, NTP servers, GemOne, and SolarWinds. 
  • Ability to work under time constraints. 
  • Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes 
  • Current DoD Top Secret level security clearance

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
