Job Summary:

The Director, Human Resources Operations leads and optimizes the HR operational infrastructure for the organization, ensuring a high-quality, compliant, and technology-enabled experience across the employee lifecycle. This role oversees preboarding, HR contractor onboarding, licensure and certification tracking, HR systems and reporting, standard operating procedures, and operational performance against key performance indicators (KPIs). The Director will manage a large and diverse team of up to 30 professionals and is accountable for delivering scalable, concierge-level HR services that support the organization's people strategy and operational excellence goals.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Operational Leadership Lead and manage all HR Operations functions, including preboarding, HR contractor onboarding, license and certification management, and HR systems support. Ensure operational processes are efficient, standardized, compliant, and aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements. Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to drive consistency, quality, and continuous improvement. Oversee HR reporting and analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decision-making. Technology & Process Optimization Partner with IT and HRIS to ensure optimal use of technology and automation within HR operations. Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance scalability, accuracy, and the overall user experience for leaders and employees. Evaluate and implement tools that improve data integrity, compliance tracking, and operational reporting capabilities. Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop a team of up to 30 HR professionals across multiple functional areas. Build a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous learning. Establish and track operational KPIs to measure performance and drive team outcomes. Compliance & Quality Ensure all HR processes comply with healthcare regulatory requirements, including licensure, certification, and credentialing standards. Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to maintain accurate employee records and audit readiness. Drive a quality assurance mindset throughout HR operations, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery. Service Excellence Build a concierge-level HR operations model that provides a seamless and supportive experience for candidates, employees, and leaders. Partner with HR business partners, talent acquisition, and leadership to ensure alignment of HR operations with organizational priorities. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Human Resources Management or Bachelors Business Administration/Management or Masters Human Resources Management-Preferred or Masters Human Resources Management-Preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
  • SHRM-CP - SHRM Certified Professional within 6 Months or SHRM-SCP - SHRM Sr Certified Professional within 6 Months or PHR - Prof in Human Resources within 6 Months or SPHR - Sr Prof in Human Resources within 6 Months

Additional License(s) and Certification(s):

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 8 years Proven experience scaling HR operations in a large, complex healthcare organization. Demonstrated success leveraging HR technology and automation to enhance efficiency and service delivery. Strong background in compliance, process improvement, and KPI management. Required and Minimum 5 years Leadership Role Required and Exposure to The Joint Commission or similar regulatory bodies desirable. Preferred

Required Minimum Skills:

Strategic and analytical thinker with operational execution excellence. Strong leadership, team development, and change management skills. Proficiency with HRIS (e.g., Workday, Oracle, Lawson, or similar) and data analytics tools. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. Accuracy and timeliness of preboarding and onboarding processes Compliance rate for license and certification tracking HR operational metrics (e.g., case resolution time, SLA adherence, data accuracy) Employee and leader satisfaction scores for HR services Continuous improvement and automation milestones achieved
