About the role

In this role, you will lead and grow teams building a strategic SaaS platform that enables secure, compliant self-service for customers and helps internal product teams deliver faster. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and SRE leaders to shape platform direction, translate strategy into outcomes, and deliver reliably across distributed teams.

You will support two product engineering teams based in Chennai and a hybrid SRE team. As part of the Product & Tech Leadership team, you will collaborate with peers to strengthen engineering practices, operational excellence, and an inclusive team culture.

Responsibilities

Platform and product leadership

  • Shape and deliver the platform vision and roadmap, balancing customer needs (security, compliance, governance) with internal developer experience and delivery speed.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Product Leads to align outcomes, customer insights, and technical strategy.
  • Contribute to platform standards and ways of working across the Product & Tech Leadership team.
  • Treat platform capabilities as internal products: clarify value, support adoption, and track impact.

Engineering and delivery

  • Lead multiple teams across locations, enabling predictable delivery, high quality, and strong operational performance.
  • Support teams through the full software development lifecycle using modern engineering and agile practices.
  • Partner with SRE to improve reliability, scalability, security, and compliance by design.
  • Ensure solutions meet the needs of regulated or high-trust environments (for example, financial services).
  • Provide technical guidance and appropriate governance (for example, reviewing designs and key decisions) while empowering teams to own implementation.

People leadership and culture

  • Coach and develop Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and senior engineers through regular feedback, clear expectations, and career growth support.
  • Build inclusive, high-performing teams with psychological safety, belonging, and continuous learning.
  • Lead hiring and onboarding, and support talent development and succession planning.
  • Encourage ownership and accountability with sustainable ways of working and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder and organisational leadership

  • Communicate clearly with senior stakeholders, explaining options, trade-offs, risks, and outcomes.
  • Share progress and dependencies and support prioritisation and investment decisions.
  • Support planning for budget, resourcing, and capacity across teams and initiatives.
  • Work with peer engineering leaders to align on standards and improve how we deliver together.

Requirements:

  • Experience building and delivering software in agile environments, including work with distributed teams.
  • People leadership experience, including coaching, performance support, and inclusive team practices.
  • Experience leading more than one engineering team or area, aligning delivery with product and business goals.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical topics in plain language.
  • Experience with security, compliance, reliability, or regulated environments (or a strong interest in learning).
  • Ability to balance longer-term strategy with day-to-day execution, and to delegate effectively.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
  • Relevant experience in engineering (degree optional). If you have a degree in Computer Science/Engineering, we welcome it—equivalent practical experience is valued.
