Job Description
As Director of the Advanced Technology Etch, Wet Process and CMP, team you will be responsible to build an expert engineering team that will be intrinsic to enabling leading edge DRAM manufacturing in a newly constructed state of the art processing facility.  This opportunity includes everything from developing an organizational vision and hiring to enabling facility qualification and production ramp.

We need an experienced process engineering leader who is looking for a purpose driven role centered around facility start up, technology introduction and high-volume production enablement.  Your objective is to enable transfer and ramp of new technologies from R/D.  Specifically, you will lead the Etch, Wet and CMP process engineering teams to drive yield/quality improvement for new products, enable equipment roadmaps, and ultimately enable Micron’s business plan.  Examples include unit process optimization, discovery/implementation of novel process control schemes, leveraging suppliers to achieve benchmark manufacturing performance, equipment utilization optimization, thru-put optimization, and continuous improvement project prioritization.

To enable wide ranging goals this position will require collaboration with technology development engineering teams, worldwide procurement teams, Industrial engineering teams; as well as interaction with capital equipment suppliers.    

Your role will require the building of a cross-functional process organization.  These teams will interact in the early stage of product development to support our products to full qualification and ramp.  Domestic and international travel will be sometimes required.

In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain safe environment through proactive safety practices and by ensuring safety policies are followed at all times.
  • Hire, develop, mentor, and manage a team of highly capable process engineers.
  • Create a values-based culture of innovation and tenacity
  • Support the qualification of a new state of the art processing facility
  • Provide regular feedback to your team members on performance, and career development
  • Engage with suppliers to develop the process and equipment needed to meet Micron’s technology roadmap.
  • Partner with Technology Development for effective transfer and ramp product yield and quality.
  • Engage with other Manufacturing and lead worldwide alignment efforts.
  • This position requires communications and collaboration with partners both locally and globally.  Strict adherence to Micron Intellectual Property protection policy is a must.

Qualifications:

  • Senior level (10+ years) experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Previous experience in DRAM is preferred including TD, HVM, or operations-based teams. Other memory technology or logic/foundry experience will be considered
  • Possess a deep understanding of the Process technology
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing a process engineering team (3+ years)
  • Experience managing suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead successful projects
  • Must be able to instill a department culture within each team member in-line with the company core values.
  • Must be an excellent communicator (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to take calculated risks challenging oneself and others to execute on new solutions.
