ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overall responsibilities will include the management of the maintenance staff, Preventive Maintenance planning for the manufacturing equipment and the facility, job assignments and priorities for unplanned downtime events, maintenance staff procedures and training to ensure operational performance targets are achieved.
  • Encourage and develop employees to improve their individual and organizational performance and practice a principle-based business approach.
  • Develop and implement annual maintenance plan including preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Develop annual budget for expense accounts and capital equipment related to the operations of Production Equipment, Facilities.
  • Ensure all systems associated with building infrastructure and manufacturing equipment is always in operational readiness.
  • Responsible for the facilities engineering design and construction of new facilities, expansions, and alterations to existing facilities.
  • Oversee and lead the Facilities/maintenance functions to ensure proper operations and maintenance of all building systems in alignment with quality and legal requirements of Polaris.
  • Maintain an understanding and knowledge of all types of construction projects, and the legal, OSHA, and Polaris EH&S requirements.
  • Provide effective capital project management through the development of scope of work documents for projects and soliciting bids to obtain the highest quality and cost combination value
  • Lead, track, and improve performance in key location goals and objectives that create the greatest value.
  • Manage the site’s reactive and preventive maintenance and calibration program in an effective and timely manner
  • Monitor the cost effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and safety standards
  • Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with contractors to minimize costs and ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service
  • Supervise technical requirements of assigned projects including monitoring and identifying deviations in budgets, schedules, and performance.
  • Assist with supervision, training, and evaluating other facilities/maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure that all maintenance repairs are completed adhering to all applicable codes and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations as related to building operations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics, blueprints, and various wiring diagrams.
  • Manage the purchase, installation and upkeep of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Bridge Crane and Compressed Air Systems

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of industry experience or experience in a similar industry, 7+ years of prior and recent supervisory experience
  • Proven experience in facility maintenance management, Engineering or Planning.
  • Strong understanding of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, Bridge Crane and Compressed Air Systems.
  • Strong understanding and experience with ERP/MRP systems required. (AS400, SAP)
  • English Proficiency
  • Competence with 2D or 3D CAD system, Electrical CAD abilities a plus

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:

  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of building automation systems, energy management systems, HVAC, and other smart technologies used in modern facilities.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to develop and manage budgets, perform cost-benefit analyses, and understand financial statements.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience with project management software and methodologies, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale maintenance projects
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations affecting facility operations, including environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with the latest industry trends and best practices in facility maintenance.
  • Leadership Development: Experience in mentoring and developing staff, fostering a positive work environment, and promoting teamwork.
  • Bias for Action: Evaluates, acts, and communicates in a timely manner. Decisive, makes timely practical, effective decisions. Takes initiative without being asked.

  •  Manages Systems and Processes: Effectively uses systems and processes to measure, monitor, manage, and impact performance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups), Power BI, Teams, and PowerPoint.
