Job Description
Role Summary:
The Regional Medical Information Specialist (RMIS) is responsible for Medical Information, handling of inquiries and Medical Education and Training of internal stakeholders and reports into the Director responsible for Medical Information.
Responsibilities and Primary Activities:
Accountabilities
Medical Information: Initially and with guidance from more tenured colleagues, responds to standard and complex Medical Information Requests (MIRs) utilizing Scientific Response Documents (SRDs), creates customized ad-hoc responses to inquiries from healthcare providers in writing and/or verbally, based on complexity. Makes decisions within guidelines and policies, which affect a range of routine client/customer, operational, and project activities. Generates insights from Medical Information capabilities to inform strategy for stakeholders. Supports process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
Medical Education and Training: Collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop training materials and identifies training gaps. Helps develop and deliver of scientific training materials to DPOC and other regional colleagues.
Other tasks as assigned.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partners with key stakeholders (e.g., other reviewers of Medical Information Letters, Publications, Scientific Affairs, Field Medical teams) to ensure assets are available with the appropriate content to meet the needs of external customers and internal stakeholders. Over time, becomes a resource within the therapeutic area for the regional functions.
Collaborates with regional colleagues (e.g. Medical Operations and Designated Point of Contact (DPOC)) to ensure the smooth handling and response of medical information requests from Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).
