Summary
The UXD team helps make Red Hat products easy—and enjoyable—for all people to use. Our global team of researchers, designers, content designers, and developers work together to bridge the technical world to the human world with intuitive and approachable product experiences. While each of us has unique skills and talents, we all agree that the best ideas come from diverse minds and fresh perspectives.
Whether we’re collaboratively supporting Red Hat’s product portfolio, exchanging ideas in upstream communities, or crunching code for PatternFly (Red Hat’s open-source design system), our focus on teamwork, empathy, and transparency plays a key role in building products our users love.
Responsibilities
We're looking for someone with budding interaction design skills who can work well with a team to turn requirements into designs and make complex technologies easy to use. As an Associate Interaction Designer, you will:
Contribute to an interdisciplinary team that includes other user experience designers, developers, product and marketing managers, and other stakeholders through all phases of the development cycle.
Identify the right problems to solve, gauge the usability of products, and make sound recommendations for improvements.
Clearly understand and articulate the information architecture, workflows, and processes surrounding the user experience.
Create wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design intent.
Partner with UI developers to ensure technical success.
Requirements - You might be a good fit for this role if:
You have a bachelor's degree or higher in Interaction Design, Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
You have hands-on experience with user interface design processes and methodologies such as Design Thinking, with a demonstrated ability to apply them in real-world projects.
You have a portfolio or work samples showcasing user experience design work, linked in your resume or provided separately.
A basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus but not required
