The Asset Management Mid supports SEC ISS Customer Service Delivery by maintaining accurate, end-to-end accountability for OIT hardware, software, peripherals, and related records. This role executes core IT asset lifecycle operations including receiving, staging, deployment, inventory control, software license tracking, and compliant disposition. The position directly supports SEC operational continuity by ensuring assets are correctly assigned, traceable, and available to users and support teams. The role also contributes to compliance and performance reporting through disciplined reconciliation and audit-ready asset documentation. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Asset Lifecycle Operations 

  • Receive, store, stage, and distribute end-user and infrastructure IT assets in accordance with SEC/OIT procedures. 

  • Coordinate shipping, deployment, relocation, and recovery of hardware, software, accessories, and peripherals. 

  • Execute asset onboarding and retirement activities, including record updates and status transitions. 

  • Perform secure, policy-compliant decommissioning and disposal of hardware and related components. 

 

Inventory Accountability and Control 

  • Maintain accurate accounting for accountable and capitalized OIT hardware and software assets. 

  • Conduct routine physical and system inventory checks; investigate and resolve discrepancies. 

  • Track custody, assignment, location, and lifecycle status to preserve chain-of-accountability. 

  • Maintain accountability for mobile devices and associated data-plan assets, including assignment, status, and recovery tracking. 

  • Produce recurring and ad hoc inventory reports to support ISS management and contract metrics. 

 

Software Asset and License Management 

  • Maintain deployed software license inventories and reconcile usage against SEC-owned entitlements. 

  • Record license counts, keys, and entitlement details in approved systems. 

  • - Review software requests for approval status and license availability before fulfillment. 

  • Identify unused licenses and support optimization actions to improve compliance and cost efficiency. 

 

Operational Coordination and Service Support 

  • Coordinate with the Customer Service Desk and other ISS teams for timely fulfillment of asset-related requests. 

  • Support onboarding, relocation, and offboarding events through accurate provisioning and recovery of assets. 

  • Work with vendors and internal stakeholders on repairs, replacements, and lifecycle actions. 

  • Communicate asset status, risks, and exceptions clearly to minimize mission and user impact. 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • This position is restricted to U.S. citizens only. Applicants must not hold dual citizenship with any other country to be eligible for work under this contract.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust.

  • BA degree and at least 2 years of related experience in IT asset management in enterprise environments. In lieu of degree, additional experience may be required.

  • Hands-on experience with delivery and staging, asset tracking, asset deployment, license management, and asset disposal. 

  • Experience receiving, storing, distributing, shipping, inventorying, and accounting for accountable and capitalized IT assets, including accessories and peripherals. 

  • IT asset lifecycle execution (receive, stage, deploy, track, maintain, retire, dispose). 

  • Hardware and software inventory control, reconciliation, and audit-ready asset documentation. 

  • Software license inventory tracking and usage reconciliation for compliance support. 

  • Accurate asset recordkeeping for accountable and capitalized OIT assets, including peripherals and accessories. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience supporting federal civilian agency IT operations and contract service delivery. 

  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM/ITAM platform for asset and request workflows. 

  • Working knowledge of federal property accountability and secure IT asset disposition standards. 

  • Demonstrated success improving inventory accuracy and reducing license compliance risk. 

  • ITIL Foundation and/or IT asset management certifications (e.g., IAITAM CHAMP/CSAM). 

  • ITIL 4 Foundation 

  • IAITAM Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) 

  • IAITAM Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM)

Pay Range:

Pay Range $52,000.00 - $94,000.00
