Let's start with the role

 The Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the release of software and infrastructure changes across the organization. This role ensures smooth and efficient releases while minimizing disruption to business operations and maximizing value delivery. The release manager will define the release strategy, champion best practices, and drive continuous improvement in the release management process through the implementation of automation and optimization of all existing release-related processes.

• Work closely with the software development and operations teams to ensure that releases meet predefined quality standards
• Develop and maintain release calendars and schedules
• Manage risks and dependencies associated with releases
• Communicate release plans and status updates to stakeholders
• Oversee the deployment and verification of releases
• Conduct post-release reviews and identify areas for improvement
• Drive the development and implementation of release management policies and procedures
• Create comprehensive documentation of the release process, including roles and responsibilities
• Drive the development and implementation of the release process related automations
• Partner with external vendors to deliver the optimization roadmap
• Lead release planning meetings and activities, conduct release readiness reviews and post implementation reviews, documenting and acting on lessons learnt
• Serve as the key release representative in all communication, management,and decision-making forums
• Act as an escalation point for all issues related to a release
• Provide on-going written and verbal release status updates to various stakeholders
• Coordinate release testing, defect tracking, and resolution

 

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a leading release management role in a large multinational organization
• Experience in release management tools (JIRA, Portfolio, Confluence) and agile/waterfall software development methodologies
• Strong experience with deployment tools and methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and deployment as well as containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) will be considered a plus
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills
• Results-oriented, willing to take responsibility and accept accountability for action
• Flexible, comfortable with ambiguity, having a sense of urgency
• Experience in the gametech industry will be considered a plus
• ITIL certification preferred
• Fluent in speaking and writing English
