As a Data Science Specialist focused on Time Series Forecasting, your mission will be to design, implement, and optimize predictive models to forecast key performance indicators (KPIs) for a payment processing company. You will leverage advanced machine learning techniques and statistical modeling to anticipate trends, detect anomalies, and enhance decision-making processes across the organization.
You will also be responsible for:
- Developing, deploying, and maintaining robust time series forecasting models to predict business-critical KPIs such as transaction volumes, fraud detection rates, and revenue trends;
- Designing and optimizing data pipelines to ensure efficient model training and inference in production;
- Implementing scalable forecasting solutions that integrate seamlessly with business intelligence tools and real-time monitoring systems;
- Applying state-of-the-art techniques, including deep learning for time series (LSTMs, Transformers), probabilistic forecasting, and ensemble methods;
- Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and software developers to ensure that forecasting insights translate into actionable business strategies;
- Ensuring models remain accurate and relevant through continuous monitoring, retraining, and validation;
- Conducting research and experimentation to improve forecasting accuracy, reduce prediction uncertainty, and incorporate external influencing factors;
- Automating reporting and alerting mechanisms for forecast deviations and anomaly detection;
- Mentoring team members and promoting best practices in time series modeling, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
What we are looking for:
- Strong experience in time series forecasting, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling;
- Proficiency in Python and its ecosystem for data science (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Statsmodels, Scikit-learn);
- Solid understanding of classical forecasting techniques (ARIMA, SARIMA, Prophet, Exponential Smoothing) and modern machine learning methods;
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) for model training and deployment;
- Familiarity with big data processing frameworks (EMR and PySpark)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions;
- Understanding of the payments industry, including transaction patterns, fraud detection, and compliance requirements.
What would be a plus?
- Previous experience in a fintech or financial services environment;
- Experience with anomaly detection techniques for financial transactions;
- Familiarity with Explainable AI (XAI) techniques to interpret model predictions;
- Experience with streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis);
