What will you do?  

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of Caterpillar’s state-of-the-art digital platform, you will as well: 

• Perform development assignments and programming tasks.    
• Work on complex projects, application systems, and infrastructure components.  
• Work on business valuable features.   
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in IT development.  

Applications (Vision Link, Cat Inspect, Foresight): candidate will have the unique opportunity to work with a variety of applications and systems used by hundreds of thousands of end users. The applications serve all necessary needs of users for full after-market care of their heavy machinery fleets, such as condition monitoring and full process of machinery inspections. All of the solutions are using a variety of standard as well as innovatory technologies – Salesforce, JavaScript, React & React Native, Java, Angular, Azure and many more. 

This position works directly with Slovakia based engineering leadership and Cat Digital IT in the US. 

What you have:  

• Recently graduated from University in Computer Science or related degree (graduated in 2024 or later). 
• Basic experience with some of the following: AWS cloud, SQL/NoSQL databases, Typescript, JavaScript, React & React Native, Angular, Java. 
• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.  
• Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce   
• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. 
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum ways of working 
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
