The Opportunity

This role will serve as the Supply Chain Specialist, for the African continent, ensuring the smooth operation of supply chain activities.  This position involves a strategic approach to managing the flow of goods, including all processes that transform demand into final products delivered. By coordinating with cross functions, the specialist ensures that products are delivered efficiently and on time

The SCS role will work out of our WOODMEAD offices in our ABBOTT RAPID DIAGNOSTICS

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

We're looking for a passionate and experienced professional to drive performance, manage inventory, and ensure seamless logistics coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee order fulfilment, on-time performance, and commercial targets.
• Manage inventory and understand basic finance within the supply chain.
• Forecast demand and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Coordinate logistics with a deep understanding of African customs.
• Ensure quality control (ISO 13485, CAPA, SCAR, QI) and regulatory compliance.
• Implement risk management strategies.

What We're Looking For:

• A degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Advanced qualifications like Lean Six Sigma are a plus!
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, working across the African market is essential.
• Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in supply chain systems like SAP.
• In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, including sourcing, procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
• Proven track record in delivering KPIs in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in driving change initiatives and facilitating transformation in a customer-focused organization.
• Solid understanding of sales distribution and logistics.
• Excellent project management and report writing skills.
• Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint and PowerBi or other analytical software.
