About the Role:

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to deliver value through strategy sourcing and category management for technology categories, including software, hardware, and professional services. The category specialist will perform category management activities and execute strategic sourcing events for technology/IT solutions for Alcority, and enterprise companies. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in a fast-paced environment and delivering strategic sourcing for a global corporation across multiple sites.  The candidate will have a proven history of delivering distinctive commercial results and superb stakeholder experience.

This position reports to Category Director. This is a highly visible and impactful role with the opportunity to broaden your category management and strategic sourcing knowledge and apply it in a very dynamic environment across a diverse set of stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate category management expertise, influence stakeholders, and demonstrate value from strategic sourcing and supplier management.

  • Support category director in development and management of category strategy, to support multi-year business plans.

  • Identify goals for sourcing projects, including developing TCO model and estimation of total cost savings opportunities.

  • Set, maintain, and clearly communicate overall sourcing strategy, timeline, and work‐plan for sourcing projects.

  • Collaborate with team and stakeholders to ensure sourcing projects capture relevant input and stay on track.

  • Develop sourcing strategy; manage development of commercial guidelines, Request for Information and Quotation (RFI/Q) documents, and bidding templates.

  • Lead detailed comparison of supplier RFQ responses (“bid tab analysis”); structure analyses to help stakeholders compare strengths and weaknesses of suppliers and their proposals.

  • Support development of negotiation strategy; perform advanced cost modeling and sensitivity/scenario analysis to help stakeholders understand trade‐offs and business benefits of various negotiation strategies/outcomes.

  • Support and lead the development and execution of contractual documents including Non-disclosure, Services, and other agreements as necessary to support Procurement and business needs.

  • Coordinate and support direct negotiations with shortlisted suppliers; communicate iterative results to business; develop final sourcing recommendations and ensure broad support among stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Finance and Legal team to ensure budgets are in place ahead of sourcing initiation and resulting contract captures commercial intent, while minimizing risk exposure through use of proper terms and conditions.

  • Ensure contracts fully reflect final negotiated outcomes and award decisions; lead implementation planning and ensure P2P implementation and effective transition to purchasing, minimizing contract leakage.

Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years related strategic procurement experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management; MBA or master’s degree is a bonus.

  • Supply chain or purchasing certification (ISM or equivalent) is a bonus.

  • Experience with ERP Procurement and e-Sourcing systems is required.

  • Experience in software category, especially experience in high-performance and complex software packages, related to Data center platform technologies, Machine learning and Artificial intelligence as well as Enterprise business software packages.

  • Experience in category management and familiarity with category management process.

  • Experience with developing RFPs and running sourcing events across IT categories using different bidding methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage sourcing projects.

  • High commercial acumen to find creative alternatives and strategies.

  • Experience in developing should cost models, TCO and supplier market analysis.

  • Experience in contracts and commercial negotiation is highly desirable.

  • Strong stakeholder communication, influencing and writing skills.

  • Contract drafting and/or negotiation experience.

  • Experience with Procure-to-Pay systems such as Ariba, Coupa or Medius

  • Travel expectation – 10%.
