JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of Linux/Windows servers, hardware, software, and cloud-based software solutions in a complex network infrastructure within the campus locations and remote sites.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs management of Microsoft Active Directory for the University.

Performs management of Microsoft 365 Suite.

Ensuring the integrity of data storage and backup systems.

Performs monitoring and troubleshooting of all IT network and security infrastructure for the University and its data center location.

OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS

Assists ITS Department group with upcoming projects and plans for the University.

Performs documentation of the network infrastructure.

Performs installation of Switches, Wireless, and Routers.

Performs installation of Linux and Windows Servers.

Performs troubleshooting of University's network/server infrastructure.

Performs training in newly implemented technologies.

Performs integrations between services and/or systems.

Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BS) or equivalent experience

Experience: 3 to 5 years of related experience. Basic understanding of installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of switches, routers, wireless controllers, and firewalls. Managing and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory. Installation and managing Linux servers.  Overall understanding of security risk involved in information systems.  Solid understanding of VMware ESX/ESXi virtual systems coexisting in SAN environments.  Solid understanding of Server hardware and redundancy topologies.

Licenses or Certifications Desirable: Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or CNSS 4011, CCNA.

Financial Responsibility: No direct accountability for financial transactions.

Supervision: None.

Special Knowledge: Microsoft Windows Server/Client Operating Systems, Linux Server Operating Systems, Cisco IOS, Microsoft VBScript, Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel.  Solid understanding of infrastructure monitoring solutions.  Overall understanding of Disaster recovery solution.
