As part of a small team, you will be responsible for overseeing the teams performing shipment of all commodities and aerospace hardware to support internal and external customer requirements.   Candidate will also be responsible for all support items that ensure business success within the Shipping Department. To do so, you are a proactive, service-oriented individual with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills who thrives in a fast paced environment. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Executing daily part shipments including all in-bound and select outbound activity.

  • Conduct performance reviews and establish career paths for progression

  • Oversee the compliance of team trainings and certifications required for duties

  • Perform root cause analysis

  • Relentlessly identify and implement process improvement opportunities 

  • Help develop a team that is capable of achieving throughput and quality that push beyond the boundaries of “industry standard”

  • Coordinate and steer the collective efforts of all Shipping specialist

  • Working closely with inventory team, production schedulers and engineers, ensure parts are kitted as specified in Bills of Material, with shipments made to ensure production/assembly start dates.

  • Manage shipping requests, distribute tasks, and provide support to all manufacturing and test sites,

  • Ensure shipping quality and conformance to specifications

  • Improve area safety and efficiency through regular auditing and continuous improvement

  • Work with Logistics team to identify and resolve any discrepancies and resolve through team work.

  • Working with manufacturing and engineering personnel, logistics team to facilitate any special or urgent requirements.

  • Optimization of shipping procedures and quality

  • Establish and analyze area metrics for trend extrapolation to drive continuous improvement within the organization in order to support the company.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Logistics, Transportation, and Shipping aerospace hardware

  • 5 + years of Experience with Shipping Department functions which include material handling, packaging delicate aerospace hardware and, hazardous materials, and raw materials including metals.  

  • Experience leading a team

  • Analytical skills to define problems, collect appropriate and relevant data, establish facts, and draw reasonable conclusions

  • Ability to safely drive a forklift and perform elevated work

  • An attitude of world-class quality, attention to detail, and dedication

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, medical or military environments

  • Experience with Hazardous Material Shipments which include DG Certification

  • Experience in business dealings with all modes of transportation vendors

  • Experience with International Shipments

  • An Associates or Bachelors degree


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $34.97-$48.95

Other site ranges may differ
