AI Software Engineer, Lead

We’re looking for a software engineer like you to create artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions that help solve the Department of Defense’s (DoD) toughest problems.

Here, you’ll lead a team as they create and implement complete end-to-end solutions that modernize client systems. You’ll ensure that your team’s solutions consider the broader ecosystem and operating environment as well as future functionality and enhancements. Additionally, you’ll use your expertise in the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies to solve the DoD’s toughest challenges.

You Have:

• 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying AI models, machine learning workflows, and data pipelines using Agile methods 
• 10+ years of experience in software development, including with programming languages Python or Scala
• Experience building, deploying, and managing AI and ML models using platforms, including TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Experience with administration of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) using tools, including ModelOps or MLOps
• Experience writing and optimizing source code for AI models and data workflows
• Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through AI-driven automation
• Experience integrating AI systems architecture, AI platforms, or MLflow
• Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
• TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:  

• Experience leading extreme programming, software engineering, product management, and software products with Agile methodology
• Experience with AI ethics, responsible AI practices, and AI governance frameworks
• Master's degree in AI, CS, or a related field
• ML, AI, or Solution Architecture Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,100.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
