Corporate Tech and Services is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, Associate Digital Experience, Global Responsibility and Global Governance.
Our Team is looking for a strong Software Engineer with Data Engineering background who will help us build next generation Walmart suite of products and platform by designing, coding, building and deploying highly scalable and robust cloud based intelligent solutions. This team would be building a cloud-based platform to cater to the associate requirements and benefits for internal stake holders.

 As a part of Walmart Global Tech in India that works on building solutions various business functions for multiple Walmart markets, your design and solution will have a significant impact on day-to-day running of Walmart. You will be challenged with unparalleled complex business problems that spans across multiple countries, large number of users and data.

What you'll do:

  • Through this role you have an opportunity to design and develop intuitive software that meets and exceeds the needs of the customer and the company.
  • You also get to collaborate with team members to develop best practices and client requirements for the software.
  • In this role it would be important for you to professionally maintain all codes, best practices and create updates regularly to address the customers and company’s concerns
  • You will show your skills in analyzing and testing programs/products before formal launch to ensure flawless performance
  • You will be required to review design and code, provide technical solutions to team for complex requirements
  • Troubleshooting coding problems quickly and efficiently will offer you a chance to grow your skills in a high-pace, high-impact environment.
  • Software security is of prime importance and by developing programs that monitor sharing of private information, you will be able to add tremendous credibility to your work
  • You will also be required to seek ways to improve the software and its effectiveness.
  • You will be called upon to support the coaching and training of other team members to ensure all employees are confident in the use of software applications

What you will bring ?
 

Data & Full Stack Engineering Expertise

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience designing and building scalable data platforms, distributed systems, and backend-driven applications in enterprise environments.

Data Engineering & Platform Expertise  

  • Strong experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, batch & real-time data processing systems, and scalable data ingestion frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience designing and managing Data Lakes and Data Warehouses, including schema design, partitioning strategies, and performance optimization.
  • Extensive experience with Apache Airflow and Astronomer for workflow orchestration, DAG design, scheduling, and pipeline reliability.
  • Expertise in data modeling (dimensional & normalized), data architecture, and governance best practices.
  • Proficient in SQL, NoSQL, and Python for large-scale data transformation, automation, and analytics workflows.
  • Experience with Spark, Kafka, and distributed processing frameworks.
  • Strong experience with cloud-native data services (AWS, Azure, GCP) including data lakes, managed databases, and serverless compute.
  • Skilled in Power BI and Looker for semantic modeling, dashboards, and executive-level reporting.
  • Experience implementing data observability and monitoring solutions (e.g., OpenObserve), logging, and metrics tracking.

Backend & Application Engineering

  • 8+ years of experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture, building highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
  • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, OOP, and scalable system design principles.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of frontend technologies such as React and Node.js to support end-to-end solution delivery.
