MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

Providing support to the PF-LSG team (PF Loan Solutions Group), a newly created team within ESFO that is responsible for the following areas:

  • Developing, maintaining and enhancing ESFO Infra/Energy loan captive distribution channels; including Infra Debt Fund, Securitisation/CLOs and Strategic Alliances
  • Manage the ESFO Warehouse (i.e. which loans can be admitted, allocation to respective distribution channels, WH Committee, execution of distribution plan and monitoring of compliance with limits and profitability)
  • Developing and leading delivery of the ESFO High Yield Infra Loan Origination strategy (in collaboration with the ESFO Origination teams)
  • Responsible for ESFO’s collaboration with the Infra Financing pillar within the Global Structured Solutions (“GSS”) team (i.e. Infra NAV and Loan-on-Loan products initially)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Specifically, you will be accountable and responsible for taking appropriate action with respect to the Company and ESFO, including:

  • Responsible for conducting product and market research from a range of generalised and specialist sources, extracting relevant information and summarising data to inform decision making at more senior levels.
  • Responsible for using existing internal systems to summarise product performance, identifying simple patterns and trends to support monitoring, reporting and decisions relating to distribution decisions.
  • Responsible for working with colleagues in the ESFO Origination and Portfolio & Asset Management teams and the Specialised Finance team to co-ordinate the construction of different portfolios of loans and single loans available for distribution to inform distribution decisions and negotiation with external parties.
  • Responsible for liaising with multiple internal stakeholders at a counterpart and senior level to relay specific information and respond to routine queries ensuring a high level of accuracy.
  • Responsible for building relationships throughout the Bank to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration.
  • Being accountable for initial compliance checks in line with internal and external processes and procedures.
  • Responsible and accountable for developing a practical understanding of all core systems and procedures within ESFO and how they link into standard systems in order to respond to enquiries.
  • Responsible for assisting in the preparation of marketing materials (including proposals and pitches).
  • As competence is achieved for the above core responsibilities, the opportunity to develop origination, structuring and execution skills for the High Yield Infra loans will arise along with the opportunity to collaborate with GSS and contribute to the growth of their Infra Financing pillar.

  • Maintain and enhance good working relationships with stakeholders, across the region and globally to share best practices, provide support and develop effective local policies and procedures appropriate to the Company, and working in support of the One MUFG and overall Group strategy.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Some previous exposure to Project Finance would be advantageous but not essential

PERFORMANCE AND DUTIES

The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity’s performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and emended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.

MANAGING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

  • The role holder will have responsibilities for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.
  • The role holder will be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favour.
  • The role holder is required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of MUFG Bank and MUS.
  • Working terms are dictated by functional mandates, the terms of the Dual-Hat Arrangement Agreement in place between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc and any other relevant agreements entered into between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.
  • The role holder will have responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, escalating to their manager where required.
