Job Description

Position Summary

This position is for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to work on research on cognitive changes in aging, the cognitive neuroscience of aging, personally and socio-emotional aging, and/or translational impact.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Trains under the supervision of a faculty mentor including (but not limited to):

  • Study Development: Conducting literature review, designing studies, creating study materials and collecting data.
  • Analyzing Data: Compiling, cleaning, and analyzing data.
  • Writing: Writing manuscripts.
  • Communication: Meet with the PI and the lab regularly to discuss research progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Presentation of Research: Poster presentations and talks at conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • A PhD in Psychology or a related field.
  • Expertise with developing and conducting lab, web-based and/or archival psychology studies.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects, as evidenced by quantity and quality of publications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently, and take initiative.
  • Skilled at research design, participant recruitment, data management, statistical analysis, and scientific writing, and an interest in mentoring junior lab members in these areas.

Salary Range

  • Base pay is commensurate with experience.
